An Update on Custom & AI-Generated Wraps

First off: thank you.

Seeing the creativity that came out of custom uploads and AI-generated snowboard wraps has genuinely been one of the most fun parts of building BoardStatement. Watching people experiment, remix ideas, and create designs they were excited to ride was incredibly rewarding.

That said, I want to be transparent about why those features are currently paused—and what’s coming next.

Why Custom & AI Wraps Are Paused (For Now)

Custom and one-off wraps turned out to be much harder to scale than expected.

Each order requires:

  • Waiting for minimum print quantities to be met
  • Coordinating small-batch production
  • Driving to pick up prints
  • Packing and fulfillment by hand
  • Longer customer wait times than I’m comfortable with

Despite solid margins on paper, the time cost is very real. What started as a business slowly turned into another job—one that pulled focus away from building something sustainable long-term.

I hoped increased ad spend would raise order volume enough to smooth out these issues, but that didn’t happen. At the current scale, continuing customs would mean compromising on speed, consistency, or sanity—and I’m not willing to do that.

What’s Staying

Artist-created designs aren’t going anywhere.

These wraps:

  • Are stocked and ready to ship
  • Don’t require custom production logistics
  • Let me deliver consistent quality with reasonable lead times

They’re efficient, reliable, and still very much aligned with what BoardStatement does best today.

White-Glove Custom Projects

If you have a large, serious, or unique project—something that truly benefits from custom treatment—I’m open to talking.

These would be:

  • White-glove
  • Limited in scope
  • Priced accordingly

If that sounds like you, email me directly: kj@boardstatement.com

What I’m Working On Next

Behind the scenes, I’m building a new venture focused on making AI → print workflows more efficient and accessible.

The goal is to:

  • Remove the friction that makes one-off prints painful
  • Make custom, AI-generated products viable without massive overhead
  • Create a better path for people who want custom snowboard wraps—and other printed goods—done right

My hope is that this eventually gives the community another, better route to custom designs than what was possible here.

Stay in the Loop

If you want updates on what’s next:

  • Or check back here from time to time

I’m also open to conversations with print shops, manufacturers, or other businesses who want to collaborate or explore better production models.

Thanks (Seriously)

BoardStatement exists because people believed in the idea, shared designs, gave feedback, and supported the work. That hasn’t gone unnoticed.

This pause isn’t the end—it’s a recalibration toward something that can actually last.
